What's the project about?

“A Peak for All” accompanies an inclusive mountain project that shows how alpinism can connect people—regardless of physical abilities or personal limitations. The focus is on the shared experience in the mountains and the question of how sport can break down barriers and create community. The film follows the participants on their journey into the alpine world and shows how trust, teamwork, and mutual support develop. It is less about performance and more about participation, courage, and the shared experience of nature.

Why is the project relevant?

Sport is often associated with competition and performance. “A Peak for All” shows a different perspective: exercise in nature as a space for inclusion, personal development, and community. The film highlights how sport can bring people from different backgrounds together and the role that initiatives, clubs, and supporters play in making such experiences possible. This also makes the project an example of how social engagement in sport can have a tangible impact.

My role in the project

Together with my colleague Simon, I was responsible for the camera work and directing the film, and I accompanied the project in the mountains as a documentary filmmaker. I was also responsible for editing the film. I developed the dramatic structure of the story from the observational footage. The French-language film challenged my French skills—my second foreign language. The film arose from a desire to authentically showcase the unifying power of sport for refugees in society.
